Famous US actress Diane Keaton is set to receive the American Film Institute's highest honor next month.
Keaton will receive the AFI Life Achievement Award during an event in the US city of Los Angeles, California, on June 8, AFI announced Friday.
The ceremony will host the 71-year-old Keaton, who is required to appear at the event to receive the award.
Keaton has won the Academy Award for her title role in ‘Annie Hall’ and has gone on to receive three other lead actress Oscar nominations.
Only nine of the previous AFI Life Achievement Award recipients have been women, including Bette Davis, Lillian Gish and Elizabeth Taylor.
Other winners of the lifetime achievement award include Morgan Freeman, Michael Douglas, and Al Pacino, among others.
